1.
Looking behind to see how far I’ve come there are roads less travelled and mine is one it became clear some time ago there’s still distance to be travelled before I’ll know What The destination looks like And how I’ll feel when I arrive another day moving through the wilderness the thoughts are racing but it’s just a test The destination is calling Salvation almost in sight? When I arrive When I arrive Mountains to climb and rivers to cross don’t let the dead weight hold you back don’t carry a lead weight upon your back Looking behind to see how far I’ve come When I arrive When I arrive When I arrive When I arrive
2.
Adeline 03:18
Adeline
Dance in shadow, be my light
We balance, yet don’t cross the line

Adeline
A smile like sunbeams, warms my soul
 For a moment I’m whole
Time, torments us And keeps me far from you
But we wait, relentless Over a year without you

 Adeline
 It’s been five years
Yet still we’re here
Another lifetime, Adeline

Time, protects us But I’ve felt so far from you
You’re still the gentlest Soul I ever knew Time, torments us And keeps me far from you
But I wait, relentless For you
3.
A choice was made
I could have stayed
 Was it for the best?
Did I pass your test?
I left in haste
 and upon my face
a guilty smile, my conscience thanked you
it was the right thing to do

 What could have been
 We could have been
But we’ll never know
we’ll never know
 What could have been
 We could have been
 Just never go
 You never know

 The rain came down
I almost drowned
but it couldn’t wash away the thought
that leaving was a last resort
 I couldn’t sleep
 We were meant to meet
Did it count for nought?
Or is life too short? What could have been
We could have been
 But we’ll never know
 we’ll never know
 What could have been
We could have been
 Just never go
You never know I know, I know
I see uncertainty in your eyes
 You know, you know
you saw it reflected in mine
but one day this might be
 A distant memory
Maybe we might reminisce
about what could have been, or is What could have been
We could have been
 But we’ll never know
 we’ll never know
4.
Why Wait 03:35
Why, why wait?
The truth will out one day
 Why, pretend?
you’ve gone and lost your way
I can tell when you’re lying
It’s every time your mouth moves
I don’t know what you are trying
But I’ve got too much to lose
And so have you
 Why, why wait?
A Sorry is not that hard
 Why deny?
This time you’ve gone too far
Can I trust my sensations I keep asking is it me
 Gas light illuminations
 It’s all ended in defeat
 You haven’t broken me

Why, why wait?
To show me your true face
 Why, so late?
Now gone without a trace
 Sleepless nights and bad dreams
you’ve poisoned the back of my mind
But we all see it now so clearly
These are the ties that bind Why, why waste
A moment more on you? Why, why waste
 A moment more on you?

about

Skylon is an 'accidental band'. The project began when paulfcook invited Luke Moore and Dorothy Bird to collaborate on a track he had written the music to. The positive feeling from this collaboration led to the 'Postcards EP' being written and recorded over a year, with the band members working remotely from home studios in Berlin, London and Liverpool.

Skylon debuted their live set in August 2021 at the Vanishing Point night in London and debuted their EP live for Liverpool Acoustic at LEAF in Liverpool in November 2021.

Skylon have had airplay on BBC Introducing, Exile FM and Mersey Radio.
